Back to Transcending Performance on Tennis

Finish early and often

Play the match in front of you (yesterday is not today)

Scrambling is one of the most underrated abilities in tennis ( knowing how to keep a ball alive without giving up court)

Most balls are statistically lost on the serve (0-4 shots)

Learn what and how patience adds to your gameplay

Playing one another ball is a worthy strategy rather than forcing a shot on a ball that should be used to set up the finish

It’s a constant dance figure out what your “dance” looks like per scale (Better, Best, Below)

The net play is avoided

Figure out why training and practicing in no man’s land can add to your play

It’s a game of rhythm you and your opponent have created a sound figure out what the sounds look and feel like and use that information

A decent return is better than giving away points and having to work back

The game only has 6 phases, figure out what and where the weak links are

Everything is patterned but really good tennis seems patternless to the naked eye

The serve/return ideally sets up the point

The statements below work for both the serve and return

◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦There’s more than one way to move the ball around (see controls of the game)

Throughout the gameplay, any and every wrinkle should be identified and capitalized on

At a certain point everyone can play, what’s your separator

Angles open up other angles (the difference between a good miss, a great shot, and a bad ball)
